It was founded in 1924 as a distributor of printing blankets, under the name Birkner & Kandlbinder OHG, with its own patent for Triumph rubber printing blankets ‒ revolutionary technology at the time. BIRKAN continues to enjoy success with its offset printing blankets, produced in-house and exported to over 100 countries worldwide.
