Thanks to more than 60 years of concentrated further development of our core business, our company now specialises in producing grids and meshes of all kinds for our customers. We provide products both for retail and directly for end customers. Our company was founded in 1945 as a metalworking company with subdivisions for fencing and door construction. Even in its early years, the company incorporated a small mechanical engineering department, in order to design wire processing machines for in-house use. In the 1970s, wire weaving developed into an equally important source of income for the company. In 1978, the first fully automatic production facility for corrugated grids and stamping grids was built, the company relocated to Erkrath and new markets were opened up thanks to the company concentrating on manufacturing wire meshes. In 1995, the product range was expanded to include spot-welded grids and profile edgings. Manufacturing is now carried out on four fully automated production lines.

Since being founded, the owner-managed company was a partner to the automotive industry before the strategy was changed in 2018 and the decision was made to concentrate on customers from other branches of industry. Right from the very beginning, the delivery range comprised most of the same products as it does today, including grey cast iron piston rings, PTFE structural parts and plastic sieves. Elastomer moulded parts followed at the end of the 1980s. Nowadays, the products we focus on are sieves, screens and filter elements made from plastic using the injection moulding method. Either plastic or wire mesh is placed in the die and overmoulded with plastic. Seals and ready-made seal sets for the automotive spare parts market complete the range. Medi-Laabs GmbH offers high-quality melt-blown filter mesh and raw materials for manufacturing hygienic masks, medical masks, and FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 half masks. The company is a German manufacturer of non-woven fabrics that are used as filter layers in protective masks, as well as a manufacturer of masks. Dr Magdalena Laabs, owner of Medi-Laabs GmbH, supplied, and started and implemented production of several dozen machines for manufacturing masks and half masks, the so-called respiratory face mask 2020. Due to the lack of filter fabric on the market and Magdalena Laabs' access to the technology of her production, she decided to introduce a special vehicle that specialised in manufacturing high-quality melt-blown non-woven fabrics. Machines working to manufacture Dr. Laabs masks can be found in Germany, Great Britain, Poland and other European countries. Further machines are in production.
