Based in Kaiserslautern (Germany), we have successfully established ourselves on the market, both within Germany and abroad, as specialists in the development, manufacture and sale of precision tools made from ultra hard cutting materials such as CVD-D (CVD thick film diamond), PCD (polycrystalline diamond) and PCBN (cubic boron nitride). In order to process these extremely hard cutting materials cost-effectively, we soon realised that we needed to move on from the old production technology of "grinding" and develop new technologies, such as laser machining. These production processes enable us to achieve extremely sharp cutting edges while at the same time retaining a high dimensional accuracy. Our high-tech tools have a key role in metal-cutting manufacturing. We can therefore support our customers with over 25 years of optimisation experience and high technical skills in this area and consider this close collaboration to be the basis for our success.

For over 30 years, the fine machining of surfaces has been our main area of focus. Submikron is not just a machine manufacturer; it has also created a complete system for lapping and polishing processes through the development of its own consumables and lapping discs. This enables us to individually respond to the different requirements of our customers. We can help you to optimise your processes, allowing you to achieve simply perfect surfaces and the best possible results with regard to surface geometries, surface roughness and removal capacities. Our aim is to make production as cost-effective as possible. In order to guarantee this, we apply machining technologies in a way that allows machining times and processing steps to be kept to a minimum. Besides creating and optimising complete manufacturing concepts, we also provide our customers with support, technical advice and training for lapping and polishing technologies.
