We are the market leader for wooden pallets in Germany and Europe's largest manufacturer of euro-pallets. Whether boards, blocks or nails – we manufacture all of our own subproducts at our site in Torgau in eastern Germany. This means that we ensure planning certainty and security of supply for your production. HIT Holzindustrie Torgau was founded in 1999 and, with over EUR 220 million of turnover and around 800 employees, is one of the biggest manufacturers of euro-pallets in Europe. Every year, over 1.1 million cubic metres of wood are processed into pallets and other wood products (incl. sawn timber, pellets and briquettes) at the production site in Torgau. The plant has annual production and drying capacities for 17 million transport pallets. In recent years, HIT has invested over EUR 200 million into a highly technological and fully integrated production process which covers all stages of value creation – from procuring the untreated wood to producing and delivering pallets and other wood products. All of the waste materials generated during processing, such as wood bark, wood chips and sawdust, are further processed to produce marketable finished and semi-finished products. For example, sawdust is used to produce pellets and briquettes, and blocks are used to make transport pallets. The wood residues are used to power five in-house biomass heating plants. The high-quality wood products originate from sustainable, certified forests.

GMR Gesellschaft für Metallrecycling mbH was founded in 1991. Today, the company employs a team of 12 and operates around the world. By 2001, we were already recording an annual turnover of 1.5 million EUR. The company specialises in the environmentally friendly recycling of used mercury and every type of waste containing mercury, with the aim of recovering the precious raw material, cleaning it and returning it to the economic cycle as mercury of the highest purity grade. The company has recently seen success in the vacuum treatment and immobilisation of naturally radioactive slurries and residues that contain mercury and in the production of precious metal concentrates out of waste products and residues containing precious metals. From its base in Leipzig, the company operates four vacuum recycling plants of varying capacities, each of them compliant with the German Emissions Protection Act (BImSchG).
