Our foundry boasts a long history dating back to the Schütz & Hertelhat engineering works, Mafa Wurzen for short, founded in 1879. This was followed 74 years later by the company VEB Maschinenfabrik und Eisengießerei Wurzen, which was transferred to the ownership of Esterer AG in 1991 and has been trading under the name "Esterer Gießerei Werk Wurzen GmbH" ever since. Together with its sister company in Altötting, Esterer Gießerei GmbH, the Wurzen-based foundry was acquired by Holding Topol GmbH in 2008. Together with Esterer Gießerei Altötting, our company is now one of the leading system suppliers in Europe. Our core areas are the manufacture of geometrically complex and core-intensive products. However, our strengths also include double-walled castings, castings with low wall strength and large components weighing up to four tonnes. We guarantee our customers the maximum possible process safety, even with challenging components.

WEMA was founded in Olbernhau, Germany, in July 1992 and began its work on 1st August 1992 at Gerbergasse 4 + 5 with eight employees. Before long, the company had developed its own production range for the wood-processing industry. At present, a core team of 15 highly qualified and dedicated employees produces: Fully automated lathes CONQUEST for series production and MINIMAT 25, MINIMAT 45 and MINIMAT 65 in three sizes for small parts; Copy lathes JOKER 7000 and JOKER 7000 CD in a traditional version either with PLC system and as a double copier or in a CNC version; CNC lathes and milling machines JOKER 7000 CNC and JOKER 8000 CNC; Manual lathes ALPHA 200/250, BETA 250, GAMMA 250/300 and ALPHA OPTIMO in a robust grey cast iron version, developed in collaboration with master turners; Tool grinding machines PROFI-S (profile grinding machine) and BLITZ profile grinding machines PROFISANDER and CENTRING DRILLING MACHINE; Universal drum MINIMAT TRU DRUM; Specialised mechanical engineering
