  3. OPIS TECHNOLOGY GMBH

    Germany

Opis Technology GmbH is a young German product design house, headquartered in Dresden. It was founded by designers and engineers with extensive industry experience. Its focus is the design of innovative and remarkable lifestyle products. There exist numerous protective cases for the iPhone, but it is a rarity to have form join function in such an impressive way as is the case with the mobile garde. Precious leather in 5 variations envelops, protects and adorns the iPhone. Business cards elegantly slide into the rear part of the protective case. In this way they are completely protected from outside influence and do not affect the overall appearance of iPhone and case. The “lop ear” corner in the front flap is more than pure adornment; even when the front flap is fully folded back it allows complete use of the camera and so affords the opportunity to take beautiful pictures. If you belong to the growing number of stressed-out smartphone users, the founders of Opis technology offer you a solution so stylishly simple you will wonder why nobody has thought of it before. Calling your friends and family with one of our telephones is a sensory experience that leaves you free to just enjoy the conversation, with nothing else to distract you or to worry about. Opis retro telephones are fully compatible with modern phone connections, and if you want to go "plug-less" they are available in mobile phone versions, too.

  4. PCO AG

    Germany

PCO's success story began in the 1980s with a research project conducted by the company's founder Dr. Emil Ott, who was at the time Chair of Technical Electrophysics at the Technical University of Munich. By using an intensified slow scan camera, Dr. Ott put forward a persuasive argument that the technology available on the market was in many cases not adequate for scientific use. In 1987, he founded PCO with the declared goal of eliminating any existing shortcomings and taking camera technology to the next evolutionary phase. Supported by a small team, he set about implementing his ambitious plan – developing a completely new image-intensifying camera. Even in this early phase, he focused on innovative technologies and processes which were to prove groundbreaking for subsequent developments and define the standard for new camera products to this day.
