Whether it's oil or energy, there is no denying our resources are becoming increasingly scarce. The fibres in textiles need both of these resources. And yet, despite old paper having been collected and recycled for decades, the same cannot be said of old clothing. With every item of clothing that ends up in the bin, valuable raw materials go to waste. On 1st October 1850, Wilhelm Schlemming founded his engraving and coining company. The varied history of company started with coining of medals, hand engraving, embroidery and signature templates. Favoured by its location in Bielefeld, a town with a tradition of laundry and linen, the production of cardboard and metal templates for textile blanking began.
