Domaine Basse-Ville, located in the charming commune of La Chapelle-Heulin, nestling in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine wine-growing area, stands proudly in the foothills of the Armorican massif. This outstanding location gives our wines their unique personality thanks to the exceptional shale-rich soil that lends our Muscadet a delicious minerality. The history of our domaine goes back far in time, standing as testimony to the attachment of the Bossard family to this wine-making land. Since the 19th century, from generation to generation, the history of vine-growing in our commune has been one of passion and expertise. It was in 1971 that Michelle and Gilbert Bossard founded the Domaine Basse-Ville, driven by their shared vision and love of wine. Their son Jean-Louis Bossard has headed the domaine since 2007, continuing the family traditional with flair. Our secret for producing exceptional muscadets lies in the combination of unique terroirs, careful selection at harvesting and slow, controlled fermentation. These factors allow us to produce muscadets with a distinctive character, rich and soft, and a long finish. Some of our muscadets will age elegantly over a number of years. The hard work of our team and the quality of our wines have won awards at many competitions.

Interior designer Charlotte Biltgen graduated from the École Camondo in 1998, and has worked with India Mahdavi, for whom she became artistic director in 2009. She has worked on architecture, design and scenography projects for over 12 years. In 2014, she launched a company working on restaurant, hotel and residential projects, with bespoke design as the common theme running through a creative vocabulary undergoing constant renewal. "I imagine a story and I create an exceptional, sophisticated and moving universe, without ever imposing decoration." Since 2014, Charlotte Biltgen has worked on Clover restaurant with chef Jean-François Piège in Paris, Le Klay in Paris, Maison Première with chef Armand Arnal in Tokyo, luxury offices in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, a villa in Cannes and numerous luxury apartments in Paris's golden triangle.
