Le contrôle des installations électriques par thermographie infrarouge est un élément essentiel de la prévention des incendies d’origine électrique. La décision de réaliser un contrôle conformément au référentiel APSAD D19 peut résulter du choix de l’entreprise utilisatrice, d’une recommandation de son assureur ou d’un tiers prescripteur. Lorsque le contrôle a été réalisé conformément au référentiel, il aboutit à la délivrance d’un dossier comportant un compte rendu de contrôle Q19 et un rapport de contrôle. Ce contrôle permet de rechercher et déceler les températures anormales et les variations excessives de celles-ci. Puis, apporter les éléments de décision permettant une intervention corrective ou préventive adaptée sur les installations, équipements et matériels ainsi identifiés pour éviter, par exemple, une dégradation des matériels, un court-circuit, un début d’incendie, un déclenchement intempestif de matériels ou d’installations et équipements associés, un arrêt de production.
