DOMAINE F.JAUBERT lies primarily in the commune of Ponteilla, in the centre of the Aspres in Roussillon. It extends over around 35 hectares, with a dozen or so hectares on the silty-clay and limestone soils of the Pliocene. The remaining 25 hectares are spread across the terraces of the Quaternaire, rocky soil with quartz pebbles and shale fragments. The eleven varieties of grape grown provide a great diversity of wines, from the more endemic, such as Grenache, Carignan and Muscat, to others that are less common in the Roussillon, such as Merlot, Chardonnay and Alicante Bouschet. The winery itself is located in the centre of the village. The estate has been in a process of conversion to organic techniques since 2019. Since the 19th century, from generation to generation, the history of vine-growing in our commune has been one of passion and expertise. It was in 1971 that Michelle and Gilbert Bossard founded the Domaine Basse-Ville, driven by their shared vision and love of wine. Their son Jean-Louis Bossard has headed the domaine since 2007, continuing the family traditional with flair. Our secret for producing exceptional muscadets lies in the combination of unique terroirs, careful selection at harvesting and slow, controlled fermentation. These factors allow us to produce muscadets with a distinctive character, rich and soft, and a long finish. Some of our muscadets will age elegantly over a number of years. The hard work of our team and the quality of our wines have won awards at many competitions.
