For the design to be improved and to make possible the electric machines servicing in all world ports, the production of the high quality electric machines and equipment started in 1967 under the license agreement signed with Siemens. Thanks to the experience gained during the period of applying the License, Uljanik TESU has become the most important manufacturer of synchronous generators in Croatia. Today, one of the basic production program is the manufacturing of generators for marine application, for small and medium hydroelectric power plants and railway. Special low and high voltage generators are made to meet the customers special demands, various voltages, frequencies, speeds and mechanical features, maximum output 5000 kVA, intended to be used under the most demanding duties and operation conditions.     The main activity of Končar Electric Vehicles is the development, production, modernization, and maintenance of electric vehicles and equipment for electric vehicles. The aim of development activities is to adapt vehicles and their subsystems to specific customer requirements. KONČAR - Electric Vehicles Inc. has about 250 employees, more than one-third of whom have university degrees. Continuing professional development of our employees is a key part of the Company. More than 50 engineers and Masters of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with extensive work experience are involved in business development of electric vehicles and their subsystems.To date, the company has delivered a total of 352 new electric locomotives, and modernized more than 400, which operate in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. For the city of Zagreb we have delivered 158 trams, 142 of which are 100% low-floor trams.
