ZЕТ 1 Ltd is a family-run business offering a fine selection of honey, royal jelly, bee pollen, perga (or bee bread) and propolis to both retailers and wholesalers.Our business model is based on our in-depth knowledge of honey harvesting in all regions in Bulgaria. This presents us with a wide range of honey products to choose from and the opportunity to select those of the highest quality. Over the last 24 years we have built strong relationships with over 300 professionalbeekeeping establishments across all regions in Bulgaria which look after about 30, 000 bee families.Our production facility located in Varna is where we conduct controlled low-temperature honey decrystallization, homogenization, filtration and package the finished product. The production process adheres to all Bulgarian and EU regulations and standards in respect to food processing and storage. While processing the honey, all organoleptic indicators such as taste, colour, scent, texture, as well as its physico-chemical properties are carefully monitored and strictly controlled. We are a certified bioprocessor of honey products and we hold a membership at the Association of the Organic Beekeepers.We produce our own honey and trade under our own trading label (bilbo) as well as process honey products for our partners traded under their own private labels.

The enterprise has its own apiary and a workshop for processing of honey and bee products.The company develops transhumance beekeeping, which further ensures conveyor grazing for bee swarms and the high quality of the extracted honey. During the winter months, the hives stay stationary along the Ogosta River. In spring and autumn, the apiary is moved on a platform, depending on the blooming melliferous vegetation.The wide pollinator activity of the apiary contributes both to the increase of the yield after pollination of crops and for the high quality production of honey. In this respect, our company is in close cooperation with the company AGRO-KP, which is a leader in the production of agricultural crops in the region.The mission of our company is to offer a various selection of the highest quality honey types, produced on the territory of Bulgaria. We are a small beekeeper company from Bulgaria. Our business include bee farming, production, promoting the research and use of bee products. Since starting in 1999 we have kept pioneering in promoting Bulgaria’s beekeeping quality and bee culture. The conventional beekeeping uses substances which are based on the latest achievements of the chemical industry and the veterinary medicine. Feeding the bees with such substances equals the treatment of plants with various chemicals-pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc. However, the organic beekeeping uses organic acids only which can also be found in the honey and the honey products anyway. We use essential oils and plants which produce substances used before the appearance of the synthetic veterinary medicine. The bees should not be fed with synthetic foods and sweeteners and they must collect pollen in clean agricultural regions planted mainly with wild honey-yielding vegetation, far from busy motorways and other sources of pollution. The mountain and semi-mountain Bulgarian regions, which actually cover one-third of the country’s territory, provide best opportunities for organic beekeeping amidst clean nature. In fact, Bulgaria is among the three European countries with biggest variety of herbs. The honeydew honey for example is the most valuable one and does not need to be certified, because it is yielded from the English Oak (Quercus Robur) which grows in abundance in our mountain regions.
