The love we have for our animals and the attachment we have to our homeland are the driving forces behind exploring new paths and setting new benchmarks. Our hemp grows in south-eastern Styria in the region around Riegersburg in Austria. It is a special little piece of land in the middle of the Styrian volcanic region. Hanfred is synonymous with sensible farming in harmony with the environment. We give our hemp the time it needs to reach the perfect maturity. By observing the natural cycle, we decided to take the sensible route without any pesticides, sprays or fertilisers. With our own farmland right outside our front door, we can therefore contribute to the preservation of nature. Our specialities are time-consuming cultivation, as well as harvesting and sorting by hand. Values such as honesty and trust, quality and reliability determine the path we take as a team. Our objective is to make life easier, less stressful and more comfortable for our customers, and to improve quality of life for animals and humans.
DRAURADWEG HOSTEL

Our hostel is located in the village Berg im Drautal between the cities of Lienz and Spittal an der Drau, on the south side of the Alps. Ideal for the 1st or 2nd stop on the Drau cycle path. Cyclists appreciate the short distance of 2 minutes to the Drau Cycle Path. Canoeists the 300m to the boat dock near the bridge of the Drau river and Delta and paragliders the 800m to the landing site from the flight area Emberger Alm. Well sign-posted hiking trails open up at the hostels front door, the Jakobsweg is in 20 minutes walking distance. Lately, the municipality of Berg was awarded with the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal.
