SISTO-C Elastomer diaphragms bonded with TFM Manufactured in a specially developed process, these compo-site diaphragms are made of an FDA compatible EPDM rubber which is firmly bonded to a TFM film featuring improved mechanical properties and lower permeability compared with conventional PTFE. This material quality also complies with FDA specifications and the EU1935. The TFM’s excellent chemical and thermal properties make this diaphragm type the first choice for applications with chemically aggressive media and high temperatures. This diaphragm type is also recommended for use in media which need to be protected against rubber abrasion and fluids containing oils and greases. As the rubber is fully covered by the TFM sheet, even mechanical damage to the sheet does not result in cavity formation and therefore to undefined spaces which cannot be cleaned. This composite diaphragm is vacuum-resistant.

SISTO-C Elastomer diaphragms SISTO soft elastomers are made from an EPDM rubber which has been designed to withstand an operating temperature of up to 140°C. The diaphragm material corresponds to FDA requirements, EU1935 and has been tested and certified in accordance with USP guidelines. The diaphragms are well suited for use in “cold applications” such as in WFI systems, and thanks to their high ozone resistance they have proven extremely successful in CIP applications with all types of standard cleaning media. These EPDM diaphragms are also ideal for sterile steam applications. A piece of fabric integrated into the EPDM rubber enables the diaphragm to be used under vacuum. The diaphragms can easily handle solids-loaden fluids and have a long service life.
