In 1994, the company Peter Krause GmbH acquired the customer base and workshop inventory from Günter Feisst, Gabelstapler, Salem. As a two-man operation, maintenance and service work on forklifts and used forklifts were primarily conducted in the early years. After the company founder invested in his first own forklifts, the opportunity arose to not only sell them but also to rent them out. This additional area of forklift and lift rental has been further expanded over the years and now represents about 35% of the total annual revenue. Today, Peter Krause GmbH sells, maintains, and rents forklifts and lifts of various brands – both new and used – and also takes on loading orders in its sector. The rental fleet currently offers around 110 forklifts – telehandlers, telescopic loaders, rough terrain forklifts, counterbalance forklifts, diesel forklifts, gas forklifts, electric forklifts, electric three-wheel forklifts, pallet trucks, and hand pallet trucks. Approximately 30 lifts – scissor lifts, articulated lifts, rough terrain lifts, crawler lifts, truck-mounted lifts, wheel loaders, as well as mini and compact excavators are available for customers. The largest heavy-duty forklifts currently are two 16-ton Kalmar forklifts, and the highest working height for lifts measures a lift height of 35 meters. Peter Krause GmbH also offers a "round-the-clock worry-free package" for customers, which includes driver training and annual instruction for forklifts and lifts. The professional association requires all companies to instruct their employees about the hazards they may encounter at work, as well as the possibilities for occupational safety, at least once a year. By being registered in the crafts register for agricultural machinery in 2012 at the Chamber of Crafts Ulm, the foundation has been laid to provide interested young people with an apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery mechanic.
