Disposal of oil emulsions by ultrafiltration Increasing disposal costs and laws about oil disposal make a treatment of oily emulsions right necessary right where they come up. The main target of this treatment is the reduction of waste volume as much as possible. Ultrafiltration is one possibility to separate even stabile emulsions. Like chemical methods and flotation, ultrafiltration can not be used as stand-alone solution. Only by an effective pre-treatment and a pre-treatment of the oily concentrate, an optimized and economical emulsion disposal can be guaranteed. By the pre-treatment, coarse particles and free oil is separated; the pre-separation dewaters and concenctrates the flow, which comes as concentrate from the ultrafiltration. So, a maximum of dewatering and concentration of the oil can be reached. The emulsion is pumped through the membrane modules of the plant. On the membrane surface, oil is separated from the waste water. Waste water will pass the membrane and is colle

Acid recovery out of pickling acids Salts and acids can be concentrated or separated from solutions by electrodialysis. For this, ions (anions and cations) are transported through the ion exchange membranes by the applied electrical field. Typical examples for the usage of electrodialysis are: Acid recovery at pickling lines Recovery of metals out of electro-plating rinsing water

Coating colour recycling at paper and cardboard industries During the production of coated paper, it has to be cleaned with water and so, waste water results with pigments of the coating color. Because of their properties, exisiting precipitation plants are working hard on these types of waste waters. Alternatively to precipitation plants, membrane filtration technologies can be used to recover these high-value coating pigments. For that, the water with coating color pigments is circulated through the membrane plant until the required concentration is reached. The permeate is free of particles the CSB value is reduced significantly. It can know be handled by the precipitation plant, which is relief by the removing of the pigments. The concentrate with coating color pigments will be recirculated into the production process. Advantages: Reduction of coating color and pigments consumption Reduction of solid amounts in the waste water, which means reduction of operation costs

Memcell classic The MEMCELL plant has been developed to run laboratory trial with minimized effort. The plant is suitable for membrane screening, cleaning examinations, lab trials and quality management. All common flat sheet membranes can be used. The plant is suitable for the following processes: Ultrafiltration Nanofiltration Reverse osmosis The flat module corresponds in his hydraulic properties to a spiral wound element. So, examinations with the flat module can be used for up-scaling to pilot plant sizes. The flat cell is available with various spacers (30-44-80mil); to run the plant with another spacer, only the middle part of the test cell has to be changed. On permeate side, there is a porous sinter plate to guarantee a steady permeate flow. So, a reliable scale-up is possible. For membrane manufacturer or technical institutes, the MemCell is available on request with parallel or seriell connection of more than one test cell. Technical data: Working pressure 64 bar (standard)

Construction of customized pilot plants Osmo Membrane Systems GmbH is very experienced in layout, manufacturing and start-up of pilot plants. From a container-installed plant which can be designed frost-proof, up to commercial Pilot plants with remote control and online integration, our product range covers a multitude of applications. Depending on the task, we rent an existing pilot plants or we design a new one. Our product range covers laboratory plants like our plant “MemCell” up to large scale plants. The plants can be delivered with an individual visualization. So, this includes data logging and remote control. By request, the plants may be delivered with a customized visualisation system. You are able with the process control system (PCS) to control the plant and a measurement data logging / interpretation system is implemented too. On customers request a secured remote maintenance and remote control will be also installed.
