The barriers and mats are highly oil-absorbent - per kg of absorbent they can absorb approx. 46 litres of petrol, 54 litres of diesel, 70 to 85 litres of crude oil (depending on viscosity) and 93 litres of engine oil in accordance with ASTM F726-12. The absorption capacity per kg is therefore approx. 8 to 16 times more than conventional absorbents. Absorbs oils, but repels water-based liquids, so that the floating of the absorbent agents is guaranteed even when saturated.

Plants of these types are intended: - for the separation of liquid mixtures, which consist of two liquids, with the simultaneous removal of solid particles contained in liquids - to remove solid particles from a liquid (clarification) - for purification of mineral oils having a viscosity at a temperature of 50°C not more than 65 mm2/s - for use in power plants, substations, other energy facilities and at enterprises involved in the regeneration of technical oils
