From a traditional family business (Julius Heinrichs), which was engaged in the production and bottling of bottled goods and their distribution in the regional area until 1976, the company Harsefelder Fruchtsäfte emerged, operating from 1976 to 1985. The company Norfruko GmbH, formerly Harsefelder Fruchtsäfte, was founded in 1985. Due to operational circumstances, namely spatial constraints regarding the storage of finished goods and empty containers, the decision was made in 1976 to restructure the business and focus on the production of freshly pressed and short-term heated apple juice, as well as the production of apple juice concentrate. This decision was correct up to that point. It was then observed that imports, first from Poland, then from the entire Eastern Bloc, and later from the Middle East and further from Asia, led to the aforementioned juices and concentrates being offered at such low prices that production was only carried out upon customer request (higher acidity). However, the opportunity arose to operate in the specialty products sector. This particularly meant refining all citrus and exotic concentrates. At that time and still today, this is partly not possible in the country of origin.
