J.H. The produced staple fiber felts consist of a variety of different fiber types and their combinations. In addition to synthetic fibers such as PET and PP, natural fibers like hemp, kenaf, and flax, as well as technical fibers like glass and oxidized polyacrylonitrile, are used. The consolidation of the fiber felts is possible through needling and/or additionally through thermal or chemical impregnation. Depending on the requirements, Ziegler felts are hydrophobic, oleophobic, flame-retardant, and insulating. They can be laminated with foam, leather, fabric, spunbond, or film, among others.
