When Alfred Hodt founded his eponymous company in 1913, he laid the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. Although the company had to start over repeatedly due to two world wars, it is now operated by the fourth generation and can rightfully be considered one of the significant companies in the corrosion protection industry. This is primarily thanks to the founder's grandson, Jürgen Wulff-Hodt, who decided in 1963 to take over the family business from his grandfather and skillfully and passionately rebuilt it. Initially focusing on the traditional import and export of fish oils as well as animal and vegetable oils and fats; in 1975, he additionally took over the exclusive distribution of the corrosion protection products, FLUID FILM, from Eureka Chemical Company, San Francisco, for Europe. Meanwhile, the fourth generation co-owns both companies. At the helm of Korrosionsschutz GmbH for many years has been the eldest son, Detlef Wulff-Hodt, who has been fully committed to the family business with great success in keeping with tradition. Products from the Hodt company stand for high quality and cost-effectiveness. FLUID FILM has long been the most well-known and proven soft coating based on lanolin. The environmentally friendly and solvent-free FLUID FILM products, which have gained recognition in shipping and the offshore industry, have been tested on millions of square meters of ballast water tank surfaces worldwide. However, users from numerous other application areas have also discovered the advantages of FLUID FILM products. FLUID FILM enjoys many enthusiastic users in industry, aviation, even aerospace, among classic car enthusiasts, water sports enthusiasts, and members of the German Society for Chronometry. It is also effectively used for the storage and transport of metal parts and even in the wind power industry. In 2000, we launched another corrosion protection product under the name PERMA FILM. This high-quality, thick-layered single-component paint meets the latest requirements for repairs and renewal of inadequate initial coatings in the ballast water area of ships, providing an economical and efficient alternative to conventional paint systems. Our latest product, HODT MULTI FILM, impresses with its versatility. This solvent-free curing rust protection serves valuable functions both as a primer and as a topcoat. As a transparent paint, it is even excellent for preserving original patina. HODT MULTI FILM relies on a water-based "Hybrid" system that cures oxidatively and ensures high elasticity of the coating. With these properties, it proves itself in machine engineering and in the automotive and construction industries.
