ELEVATION JIU JITSU (BJJ)

BJJ is a martial art that focuses on bringing the opponent to the ground as quickly as possible - through a takedown, throw, or shoot - and then continuing with ground fighting. The goal of the game is to make the opponent submit as quickly as possible using various holds, locks, and chokes. By moving the fight to the ground, the advantage that a more skilled standing fighter has is neutralized. This is also evident in major Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competitions, of which the UFC is an example. In these competitions, the majority of outcomes are decided on the ground. Therefore, it is important for every fighter, regardless of their discipline, to master ground fighting. Practice shows that 80% of street fights end up on the ground. Within BJJ, techniques are employed that work based on leverage, timing, and weight distribution. This allows a smaller, weaker person to defeat larger, stronger opponents.
