Crystal Photonics GmbH is a highly specialized manufacturer of detector systems and miniaturized nuclear radiation detectors for medical technology, industrial measurement technology, research, environmental protection, and defense. We successfully combine decades of experience in the production and processing of crystals with our expertise in the application of detectors in a wide range of operating conditions. Our particular focus in medical technology lies in the field of nuclear medicine: since 1997, we have been developing and manufacturing gamma probe systems for intraoperative applications, which enjoy the highest reputation worldwide due to their reliability and exceptional performance. Our latest system, "Crystal Probe -automatic-", for surgeries using the sentinel lymph node excision method (SLNE), continues this tradition. It includes a variety of different probes with variable parameters, such as our wireless Bluetooth probe, Crystal Wireless Probe, which represents the current pinnacle of our gamma probe development. Furthermore, we are currently developing, in a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, together with the nuclear medicine institutes of the universities of Dresden and Leipzig, one of the first small imaging systems for the sentinel lymph node method, the hand-held gamma camera CrystalCam.
