The aluminum enclosure Type CA from Bernstein is corrosion resistant, impact resistant and has a high mechanical strength due to which it is ideal for the encapsulation of electrical, electronic, pneumatic components and applications that are used in potentially explosive environments. The CA enclosures feature copper-plated earthing screws for connecting PE conductors on body and cover, and are finished in RAL 7001 in a silver/gray shade. Earthing sockets and mounting flanges can be utilized for mounting as well as for securing the built-in components. These come with factory-assembled seals that confer class IP 65 (optionally IP 67) protection according to DIN EN 60529.

Mechanically highly stressed components – such as the rotating head – are made of metal. This makes it extremely robust and durable. The plastic housing, on the other hand, is light and functional. A variant with M12 plug connector allows a particularly simple connection to the machine. Another user-friendly feature is the possibility of flexible contact assembly: The contact combination of NC and NO for monitoring the door position and the guard locking can be freely combined at the factory. The programmable safety controller of the SCR P series is a smart alternative to the classic safety relays. Due to its multitude of applications it can replace various safety relay modules. This saves not only costs but also time, wiring effort and space. Up to 5 possible safety circuits with a max. of PL e, thereof 2 circuits with innovative DCD diagnostics allow logical connections to distinctively shutdown certain parts of a machine. Extensive diagnostic information can be retrieved via the Ethernet interface.

The position switches IN73 are the successful answer to an increased demand of the market. The contacts of these new series are specially designed for switching low currents. The IN73 is a hybrid because of the sophisticated fusion of metal and plastic components: All mechanically stressed components are almost completely made of metal. The CS-480 B.flex is the smallest suspension system from BERNSTEIN.
