The New C2E Decanter Centrifuges for Small Treatment Plants Flottweg presents a new era of sludge dewatering for small sewage treatment plants. Proven know-how meets state-of-the-art technology. This is the best way to describe the new Flottweg decanter C series. We also have the optimal solution for the very large wastewater treatment plants. The combination of our own Simp Drive® drive system, which has been in use since 1994, and Recuvane®, which allows flexible and simple retrofitting as well as targeted discharge of the centrate water, sets new standards for Flottweg in separation technology.

Flottweg C series decanters around the world process 25 million liters of sewage sludge per hour. The dewatering and thickening of sewage sludge plays a decisive role in the wastewater treatment process. Requirements for the quality and efficiency of sewage treatment plants increase year after year, not least driven by the increasing costs of energy and disposal. As a result, the state of the art is now to use decanter centrifuges to dewater and/or thicken the incoming sludge. Flottweg developed the decanters of the C series especially for this purpose. The C7E represents the largest of all the C machines. The C7E increases the proportion of dry substance in the sludge, thereby reducing its volume and weight (due to loss of water). That means that operators need to dispose of, recycle, or burn less sludge. The result: enormous potential savings for the operators of sewage treatment plants.

Transport and disposal costs, at over 70 percent, represent by far the largest cost item in sludge dewatering. A powerful dewatering assembly is thus an important criterion. With a Flottweg HTS Decanter in the C series, you can achieve the highest possible total dry solids in the dewatered sludge, thereby continuously saving on transport and disposal. Neotec UV developed open channel low-pressure, high-output ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system equipped with cleaning device operated by submersible rodless cylinder (NOL-HA Series) in 2005 and obtained Excellent Performance Certification from Korean government agency in 2009. Since then, Neotec has installed UV system at many wastewater and reclaimed waste- water treatment plants in Korea.

SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR GAS STORAGE With the Lipp gas holder Lipp offers a tried and tested system solution which is complete in itself, for unpressurised storage of biogas, sewage gas and landfill gas. This solution is chiefly used for municipal waste water treatment plants and landfills. Due to its design, as well as high functional and operational safety, it also ensures low maintenance costs over a very long service life. This is mainly because the sensitive gas holder is protected against UV radiation and other environmental influences by a steel container manufactured with the Lipp dual seam system. Furthermore, this construction method allows an exact leak test and highly accurate metrological monitoring of the gas fill level. Both aspects are essential for safe and efficient plant operation. With certification according to § 19 WHG for Lipp GmbH and DVGW approval of the gas storage tank, further conditions are met for use in municipal waste water treatment plants.

Waste water treatment plants and surface waters have enormous energy potential. A sewage treatment plant, for example with 90 million litres of wastewater daily, reducing the wastewater temperature by using heat exchanger by around 1°C, generates a power of about 4.3 MW. The comparative potential for energy recovery from the surface water is even higher. Environmental aspect Induced by humans, water temperatures of the surface and streams have steadily increased, not least owing to the inflows from sewage water treatment. This has serious consequences on the flora and fauna. If heat is extracted from purified water in the sewage treatment plant or from surface waters and from streams, and water temperature is thereby reduced, this will have a positive effect on the entire ecological system. With KASAG heat exchanger systems, on the one hand, the energy requirement of the sewage treatment plant can be covered and, on the other, buildings in near vicinity can be heated or cooled.

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE, MAINTENANCE FREE AND PROTECTED AGAINST EXTERNAL EFFECTS The pressureless gas storage system of Lipp is used for the storage of gas produced on landfill sites, waste water treatment plants and also as external storage on biogas plants. Gas storage systems by Lipp have been successfully installed in more than 300 projects in Germany and worldwide. The gas storage capacity extends from 30 to 5,000 m³. The gas resistant PVC gas holder is protected by a galvanised steel cylinder. The self supporting roof is made of 1.4301 high grade stainless steel. The Lipp gas holder is offered as a complete system, including sensors and built in parts as well as steel construction, and can be easily integrated into an existing system. The main area of application of the Lipp gas holder is municipal waste water treatment plants and landfills which want to balance out fluctuations in gas production and at the same time need a buffer store for possible downtimes.
