EGE offers ultrasonic sensors with up to 600 cm distance from the medium surface, ultrasonic sensors for applications in humid environments in protection class IP 68, IP 69, and ultrasonic sensors in small compact designs. Ultrasonic sensors continuously issue an ultrasonic pulse. The ultrasonic signal is reflected at the medium surface. The filling level is continuously calculated from the runtime of the echo of an ultrasonic pulse. The sensors output PNP switching signals or a 4...25 mA signal. Ultrasonic sensors are particularly suited for applications where no media contact with the sensor is desired or the sensor cannot be installed from the side or in the immediate vicinity of the medium for design reasons.

Ultrasonic sensors detect a multitude of objects contactless and wear-free with ultrasonic waves. It does not matter whether the object is transparent or opaque, metallic or non-metallic, firm, liquid or powdery. Our ultrasonic sensors are available in many different designs, ranges, cone angles and output types. Most of them feature temperature compensation, noise suppression and a connection cable for auto-synchronization.

With Conventional Feed Lines, the focus lies on speed and material surface. That’s why Conventional Feed Lines are equipped with a Coil Reel for pull-off, a Straightener with variable frequency drive a coil loop and a Servo Roll Feed: the loop uncouples the more inert straightening process from the highly dynamic indexing process and thus allows for high line speeds and preservation of the material surface. Since productivity and capacity demands can vary significantly, we have created different control concepts: while small Feed Lines work with a simple pneumatic drag brake at the Coil Reel and an ultrasonic sensor to control the Straightener speed, the large Feed Lines get fully synchronized controls with motor-limited Coil Reels and a smart loop, creating a steady average speed of the whole line. This allows smooth pull-off of high coil weights while the loop remains very calm – in addition, the Servo Roll Feed can work with full dynamics, even at long indexing progressions.

This manual labelling solution was developed to apply one or more seal labels to folding boxes in small batches - before fully automatic lines are changed over to the product, the products are already sealed with this device. The seal label can be applied to all closure flaps as required. An ultrasonic fork sensor enables the processing of transparent and non-transparent sealing labels. ECCO is the efficient solution for fast pipe centering. Especially for thick-walled large pipes, with low line speeds and high mass throughput, the start-up process is difficult, time-consuming, and associated with high raw material costs. ECCO makes it possible to measure the wall thickness distribution shortly after the pipe calibration. The ultrasonic sensors, which are mounted directly behind the calibration sleeve in the vacuum tank, are pneumatically and flexibly moved up to the respective pipe geometry after line start-up and adapted to the pipe. The AUREX XXL is the solution for large pipes with a diameter of up to 3000 mm. The system works with 8 water-coupled ultrasonic sensors that can be pneumatically adjusted. This is possible without conversion in case of a change of dimensions. Minimum wall thickness tolerances are obtained via the downstream control loops of the weight per meter and thin point control and production is perfected.
