To achieve the required shape and dimensional accuracy, Tyrolit offers vitrified-bonded, resin-bonded, and electroplated CBN and diamond wheels. Our abrasives ensure safe working without thermal damage to the workpiece. This process is typically used for cylindrical or tapered workpieces, especially joints with an axis or shaft, such as gears, steering systems, injection systems, and hollow shafts. Tyrolit provides vitrified-bonded tools with excellent profile retention and cool finishes, reducing thermal load. Depending on the material, we recommend our superabrasives over conventional tools. Our resinoid bond, specially developed by Tyrolit, ensures shorter grinding times and maximum process stability. Resin-bonded diamond and CBN tools offer long tool lives and high dimensional accuracy. Electroplated tools exert low grinding pressure, ideal for small diameters.

During pendulum grinding, the Tyrolit grinding wheel moves over the workpiece at a high feed rate. The cast material is processed during the stroke movements, both in synchronised and counter-rotation. Tyrolit pendulum discs are suitable for almost all pendulum grinding machines and deliver the best results, for example when grinding and fettling heavy cast workpieces or metal blocks. The high-quality Tyrolit grinding discs for pendulum grinding are the result of decades of expertise in the development of grinding tools. For our customers in the automotive and housing industry, we produce deep-drawn stainless steel pots with an integrated axle as a monobloc component. These are used in water pumps for electric vehicles. Our customer from the automotive industry needs pots with an integrated axle that holds a rotor. Up to now, the pot and axle have been joined in a centred manner by means of welding. The customer's wish was to produce a one-piece component to avoid welding. Deep drawing is the ideal technology for this. The size of the component required larger presses than were previously available. Therefore, we first developed tools as prototypes for larger presses on behalf of the customer. After practical tests at the customer's premises as well as at the end customer's, our client decided on a tool that was ideally suited for the production of the component in series.

Thanks to the combination of precision extrusion, CNC machining, and surface treatment, we can shorten the total production time for machining and improve the quality of the product. We write the software ourselves and make our own moulds for the CNC machining. Every profile is different and often demands a specific processing method, particularly if it is a visible surface. To this end, we use CAD/CAM programmes such as Solid Works, Solid Edge, and Unigraphics. We also develop the clamping tool ourselves too. The right clamping method is crucial in order to achieve the desired result. The best clamping method is dependent on factors including the dimensions and thickness of the profile and the processes to be implemented.
