SPIROL offers a line of austenitic stainless steel Disc Springs in diameters ranging from Ø8mm to Ø71mm. Austenitic stainless steel is typically used for static and low cycle applications that require a heightened level of corrosion resistance. It withstands fresh water and atmospheric marine conditions very well, and is suitable for many other industrial conditions including acidic environments. This material will continue to work harden with use so cycle life is limited, but creep resistance is good. SPIROL supplies both single Disc Springs as well as Pre-Stacked Disc Springs in custom configurations, packaged in shrink wrap with a perforated tab for easy of assembly.

Shrink disc to connect a hollow hub to a shaft. They are mounted on the OD of the hub and generate pressure on the hub wall by reducing the ID with wedgeformed rings, creating a press fit between the hub and shaft. They are suitable for static, dynamic and shock loads. for extremely high torques no axial shaft/hub offset when assembling selfcentring The version 23380014072 has high tensile ISO 4762 screws. Assembly Remove existing transportation locks. Clean and lightly oil shaft, internal and external hub diameters. Do not use MoS2 or grease. Slide shrink disc onto hub. Then slide unit (shrink disc/hub) onto shaft and position correctly. Gently tighten clamping screws one after the other by hand. Then use a torque wrench to tighten the clamping screws crosswise in several increments to the defined tightening torque MS. 1st increment approx. 33% MS 2nd increment approx. 66% MS

The force to be measured must be introduced axially and perpendicularly to the entire surface of the inner and outer bands of the sensor in the opposite direction. Conversion of the acting force into an electrical output signal is performed by strain gages connected together in a full bridge circuit. To achieve optimal accuracy, the base of the sensor should rest on a smooth level surface, hardened to at least ≥ 58 HRC with sufficient dimensions. The base cover welded to the surface has a stabilizing effect on the sensor element. Lateral forces must be avoided anyway as they distort the measured results. Tension and bending relief for the sensor cable is to be carried out on the machine side. Stainless steel series – for applications where corrosion resistance and high transmissible torque is required. This new design of Shrink Disc is made from stainless steel forged rings and uses high strength stainless steel screws. These units are available from 14mm to 195mm bore. Characteristics Shrink discs are the modern method for creating a mechanical shrink fit. The shrink disc consists of either one or two thrust rings with tapered bores and a mating tapered inner ring. By tightening locking screws the thrust rings are drawn together compressing the inner ring and applying pressure to the outside of the hub clamping it to the shaft. Being positioned around the hub there is only one interface transmitting the loads giving the shrink disc method distinct advantages such as offering the possibility of very concentric and well balanced connections that are suited to high speed applications.
