The pressure transmitter illustrated here measures differences in pressure between the two connections of the measuring element. Pressure differences can be measured with respect to a reference pressure, such as atmosphere, or to the command variable of a regulation system. Equally, however, it is possible to measure pressure differences within systems that have a high static pressure. One practical example of this would be measuring a flow rate by determining the pressure drop occurring across a metering diaphragm. The differential pressure transmitter measures in both directions and can therefore, for instance, be used on double-acting hydraulic cylinders. Its construction permits it to be used with liquid or gaseous media. Venting holes simplify installation. The robust design and the use of stainless steel make it possible to use the pressure transmitter under tough operating conditions.

The pressure transmitter is particularly suitable for measuring volume flow of town gas supplies or other gaseous hydrocarbons such as butane, methane etc. in industrial furnaces or combustion plants. The instrument does not generate any ATEX zone as its design and technical safeguards mean it poses no ignition hazard. The measuring range is scalable in the range from 10 .. 100 %. This can be performed using a keyboard and display (optional). The measured values can be displayed in all standard units. A selectable time constant allows the transducer to be adjusted perfectly to the pressure conditions and thus ensures a stable output signal. The P 29 can be mounted either on a wall or on top-hat rails.

This pressure transmitter is particularly well suited for monitoring filters and pressures in HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) applications. DIP switches allow users to configure the output signal and switchable measurement ranges (optional). Settings provide an option for conversion to a root-extracted output signal (displayed as a % of the maximum output value). An internal button is also available for performing a zero-point correction or fine-tuning the end value. An optional display allows users to read the measured value directly on site in Pa or kPa. With an optional time constant (up to 10s), the instrument can produce an attenuated output signal, even under unstable pressure conditions. An optional two-wire version of the device is also available for reducing wiring complexity. In addition to simple wall-mounting with just 2 screws, the PS 17 is also suitable for mounting on top-hat rails.

As well as measuring the differential pressure, the instrument also records positive and negative overpressures as well as flow rates or volumetric flows. The measuring range is scalable in the range from 10 .. 100 %. Two optional contact points allow the user to connect visual or audible alarms that are triggered any time values rise above or fall below specified limits. The transmitter can be configured easily via an USB interface (optional) with software. This can also be performed using a keyboard and display (optional). The measured values can be displayed in all standard units. A selectable time constant allows the transmitter to be adjusted perfectly to the pressure conditions and thus ensures a stable output signal.

To reduce wiring costs, the instrument is also available in a version with two-wire technology (optional). The PS 27 can be mounted either on a wall or on top-hat rails. The instrument is available with an ISO factory calibration or DAkkS calibration certificate (optional).

The sensor model 8228 with its measuring accuracy of 0.05% F.S. (for the measuring ranges ≤ 1 bar, the measuring accuracy is 0.1% F.S.) ideally suited as a reference sensor. The compact dimensions, the robust housing and the industrial-grade output signal result in a very wide range of applications. All components in contact with media are made of stainless steel. An integrated measuring amplifier converts the measuring signals directly into interference-free voltage signals or current signals that can be transmitted over long distances. With the „gage“ measurement type, the pressure measurement is carried out against the ambient pressure, the sensor has a bore that is protected against ambient influences to compensate for the ambient pressure. With the „Absolute“ measurement type, the applied pressure is measured against an enclosed vacuum; this measurement type is available from the measuring range 0 ... 250 mbar. The electrical connection is made via an M12 x 1 connector.

With its rugged housing and a stainless steel sensor element, the transducer is particularly robust and ideally suited to the harshest environments. This also means that the sensor can be installed anywhere with no effect on the measurement signal. The built-in instrumentation amplifier converts the sensor signals into noise-immune voltage signals or current signals that can be transmitted over relatively long distances. For high viscose materials, a front-level membrane M12 x 1 is available, and with this disruptive dead volumes can be expelled. The sensor has a small protected hole on the rear to allow measurement of atmospheric pressure (measurement type relative). For the absolute measurement option, the applied pressure is measured with respect to an enclosed vacuum. As an electrical connection, a DIN 43650A valve connector or an M12 x 1, 4-pin connection is available.
