The modules of the IMSP series are connected before the interface devices and provide reliable protection against voltage surges. The only 6.2 mm wide DIN rail devices are IP20 rated and can be used in the Ex and non-Ex area. Among other things, modules are available for surge-protected connection of analog signals (e.g. for analog signal isolators and temperature measuring amplifiers) as well as for connecting binary signals from switches or inductive and capacitive sensors.

Capacitive sensors work contactless, reactionless and wear-free. Thanks to their high sensitivity and the ability to detect electrically conductive as well as non-conductive objects, they can be used in many different applications. They even detect levels of liquids or solids. In addition to position measurement, further important application areas are overflow protection, dry run protection of pumps and leakage detection.

The INFICON Pirani Capacitance Diaphragm Gauge (PCG55x) combines the INFICON Pirani technology with the advantages of a ceramic capacitance diaphragm sensor in a single product. In the measurement range between 10 mbar and atmosphere the capacitance diaphragm technology provides gas-type independent, highly accurate values for reliable pressure measurement. The PCG55x offers also a variety of features which allows the right product configuration for the demanded application. Capacitive proximity switches are contact-free sensors. They detect metallic and non-metallic objects, regardless of whether they move or not. The achievable sensing range of the devices depends on the object material, its dimensions and the response sensitivity, which is set via a potentiometer. The vibration-resistant sensors can be approached laterally or frontally. Capacitive proximity switches are used for presence detection (e.g. sealing detection), positioning (e.g. PET bottles), counting (e.g. plastic caps), level detection (e.g. lubricant) or distance measurements (e.g. thickness measurement) of solid and liquid materials.
