It is specifically designed to work with sulfuric acid. The content of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper provides excellent corrosion resistance. The low carbon content, along with its stabilization with columbium, allows for welded fabrications that can be used in corrosive environments, typically with post-weld treatment. With its high nickel content, it makes it practically immune to stress corrosion cracking. This alloy is often chosen to solve SCC problems.
