SPIROL manufactures spiral retaining pins made from stainless steel 316 to meet the requirements of specific applications. Stainless steel type 316 is similar to stainless steel 302/304 but has a slightly higher nickel content and includes molybdenum. The molybdenum content significantly enhances the chemical resistance of this alloy. Steel 316 exhibits superior resistance to pitting from seawater, acetic acid vapors, chlorides, sodium and calcium brines, hypochlorite solutions, phosphoric acid, sulfite liquors, and sulfurous acids used in the paper and pulp industry. This alloy is also austenitic, non-magnetic, and not hardenable by conventional methods.
