Pin gauge: a gauge used to measure the hole of a part, typically assembled from a standard piece in which the gauge piece can be used interchangeably with other gauge pieces. There are round hole plug gauges and threaded plug gauges. Round hole plug gauges can be made in two types: maximum body size and minimum body size. The thread gauge is a tool for measuring the accuracy of the dimensions of internal threads.
