Shared seals for retrofitting sealing

Shared seals for retrofitting sealing

Split seals allow for the retrofitting of existing pipelines. They also save you the hassle of sliding a closed seal over a long distance. Of course, they are just as tight as closed seals due to good overlap at all separations. For installation, with seals that have thermoplastic pressure rings, the screw is removed at the point where the rubber seal is split. The seal can then be opened and pulled over the pipe or cable. The seal is closed again, the screw is inserted, and all screws are tightened in a cross pattern. With seals that have stainless steel pressure discs, the tab is lifted over the rubber split, the seal is opened, and the procedure continues as described above.
