Description Sample Recorder & Player The Akai MPX16 is an advanced sample player with onboard sampling. The portable Akai MPX16 records .WAV samples onto an SD card and plays them back through its stereo output. Similar to the successful MPX8, samples are triggered internally via pads in MPC style. Alternatively, samples can also be triggered using an external MIDI device or via USB-MIDI. For this purpose, the Akai MPX16 features a 5-pin MIDI output in addition to the USB port. Corresponding adapter cables are included in the package. The Akai MPX16 also functions as a MIDI pad controller, allowing clips to be launched or software instruments to be controlled. Samples are recorded in CD quality through the two 6.3mm inputs or via the built-in stereo microphone and saved onto an SD card. Users can assign audio clips to the pads and edit them with tune, filter, envelope, and choke groups. An LCD screen and illuminated trigger pads provide visual feedback. Power can be supplied either via USB or through the included power adapter. Existing sounds can also be loaded onto the SD card.
