In a drive-in rack system, the number of items that can be stored generally corresponds to the number of loading aisles available. The number of pallets depends on the length and height of the loading aisle. Conversely, the length of the loading aisle is determined by the number of pallets per item, the available space, and the storage duration. It is advisable to store only one item number in a loading aisle to avoid unnecessary handling of the pallets. The capacity of drive-in rack systems surpasses that of conventional pallet racks, as illustrated in the following drawings. These depict a storage area with two spatial divisions featuring different rack layouts and capacities.
