Robot Cell for Surface Inspection of Pipes The "Meproscan 3000" performs a surface inspection on highly polished pipes. Different pipe lengths (200 to 630 mm) can be handled. In the example, the inspection cell is loaded by the operator with two pipes at a time. Once the loading drawer is closed, the robot (inside the cell) removes a part from the fixture, moves the pipe in front of the camera, and places it on either a GOOD or BAD conveyor depending on the inspection result. The cycle time for the longest pipe (630 mm), including handling, is under 60 seconds.
