By means of the spring-loaded rib shaft (plunger), the needle pierces only the upper cloth layer when sewing over pockets and belt loops. The spring pressure is adjustable. The arched detachable workplate and the extended presser feet prevent belt loops and pockets from getting caught, ensuring a smooth feed. The wider open presser feed facilitates the handling and the insertion of the waistband.
