Exploitation of energy in wastewater treatment plants - and from surface waters with very high energy potentials

The treatment plants and surface waters have enormous energy potential. For example, a treatment plant with 90 million liters of wastewater per day, whose temperature is lowered by 1°C using heat exchangers, produces about 4.3 MW. The potential of surface water is even greater in comparison. Environmental Aspect Due to human intervention, the temperatures of surface waters and currents have steadily increased, primarily due to emissions from treatment plants. This condition has severe effects on flora and fauna. If at this point heat is extracted from the treated water in the treatment plant or from surface waters and currents, lowering the water temperature, a positive effect is achieved for the entire ecosystem. Thanks to KASAG's heat exchanger systems, it is possible to independently cover the energy needs of the treatment plant.
