This sublime cognac is the expression of perfection and is recognized worldwide as an exceptional cognac with a character of great richness. TASTING NOTES Balanced aromas for perfect harmony A cognac rich in aromas is one that develops great finesse. The terroir, the vines, the barrels, and the years of maturation are all elements that define the specifics of each of these aromas, which is why we pay special attention at every stage of crafting our cognacs to enhance them. The quality of Courvoisier cognacs is globally recognized and regularly awarded at various international spirits competitions (IWSR, San Francisco Spirits Competition…). Old Port This aroma comes from the long aging process. Over the years, the eaux-de-vie evaporate slowly, and it takes about three bottles of eaux-de-vie to produce one bottle of Initiale Extra. Truffle The humid cellars, with floors unchanged for centuries, in which we age Initiale Extra allow the truffle aroma to develop slowly. We take particular care of these cellars to maintain perfect humidity conditions, without which this aroma could not develop. Warm Fruit Cake Deliciously evocative, this aroma comes from cognacs at the peak of their fullness. Thanks to several decades of aging, our Cellar Master nurtures this dried fruit aroma to evolve into spicy notes of warm fruit cake. HOW TO TASTE IT Neat: it takes decades to create Initiale Extra, which deserves to be sipped and savored in small sips. We recommend serving Initiale Extra in a tulip glass, allowing it to breathe for a minute.
