Château de Pez

Commentary In 1995, Jean-Claude Rouzaud discovered Château de Pez and its long history. Established in 1452, it was notably owned for two centuries by the Pontac family, owners of Château Haut-Brion and pioneers of great terroirs. The terroir of Pez, indeed, is remarkable, being a single block. The location is ideal and the château charming. Jean-Claude Rouzaud's decision was solidified by tasting the incredible collection of vintages from the Château. Very round, fine, elegant… This is how Château de Pez became part of the “Roederer Collection.” Today, the Roederer House belongs to his son, Frédéric Rouzaud. With selflessness, humility, and passion, the vineyard is being replanted, and the estate is equipped with assets to affirm the style of Château de Pez wines. Tasting The color is dark with a beautiful leather nose. The palate is long, dense, and velvety, with lovely aromas of spices, licorice, black fruits, and ripe, juicy strawberries. Beautiful length, with a superb licorice finish. Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon (56%), Merlot (41%), Petit Verdot (3%) Producer: Rouzaud Family (Louis Roederer) in Saint-Estèphe (33180) Formats and packaging: Bottle (75cl) - Wooden case of 6 - 2013
