BMC (Bulk Moulding Compound) and SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound) are molding compounds made from polyester and vinyl resins, reinforced with long glass fibers. Aareplast AG is one of the leading processors of such materials. Hardly any other material offers better insulation properties combined with the highest strength requirements and the lowest weight. Advantages of SMC and BMC materials: - Highest mechanical strength and rigidity - High thermal load capacity - Excellent fire behavior (UL94-V0: 0.4mm) - Low weight - Good tensile, bending, and impact resistance with high insulation capability - Good dielectric strength, creepage resistance, and arc resistance - DIN EN 45545-2 With special filling devices and automation systems, we manufacture BMC components fully automatically using the injection molding process.
