A significant portion of the eggshell is composed of 95.1% minerals, 3.3% protein, and 1.6% water. Calcium is the main mineral component, making up 37.3% of the total weight (with calcium predominantly present in crystalline form as calcium carbonate (CaCO3) at 93.6%, followed by calcium triphosphate (0.8%) and magnesium carbonate). On the other hand, eggshells have the advantage of not containing toxic elements.
