...Unagi is the Japanese word for freshwater eel. It has been consumed in Japan for over 5,000 years and is therefore an essential part of both the culture and cuisine. The Unagi is roasted or grilled and coated with a sweet marinade based on soy. Our Unagi is farmed in China and Taiwan. After that, we marinate the eel in the sweet Kabayaki soy marinade. The freshwater eel is delivered in butterfly fillets, with 20% Kabayaki sauce. Use the Unagi, for example, as a topping for unagi sushi (nigiri or tamaki) or in a bowl.
