...The choice of a ceramic substrate for PCB design is becoming increasingly popular. The high maximum operating temperatures of 800°C+ allow for much higher operating temperatures at which silicon carbide and gallium nitride semiconductors can now operate. The new DPC (Direct Plated Copper) manufacturing method also enables miniaturization and microelectronics that are not possible with other methods. Ceramics are resistant to UV rays, and their inert nature makes these substrates ideal even when a hermetic package is required, where outgassing or humidity cannot be tolerated.
