Dr. Ludwig Lock invented a lye in 1880, specifically for the production of pretzel dough - the lye we use today for pretzels. Even today, we supply bakeries in Germany and beyond its borders. Over the years, we have expanded our product range. Today, we have our own sewing shop where we produce various lye and proofing cloths in standard and custom sizes. Additionally, we offer other supplementary products related to pretzel lye, such as our neutralizer for used pretzel lye or the hydrometer for determining lye concentration.
