...Young, sliced jackfruit in brine. Due to its meat-like texture, unripe harvested jackfruit is the ideal base for hearty vegan dishes. Lotao jackfruit comes from smallholder farms in Sri Lanka. Preparation: Drain the fruit well, season to taste, and marinate with 2 tablespoons of oil for 10-15 minutes. Then, sauté in a pan for at least 4-5 minutes until browned to your liking, and add seasonal vegetables. Serve with Lotao rice, couscous, in burgers, or on salads.
