TONNELLERIE CONDACHOU

Founded in 1955, Tonnellerie Condachou is one of the last family-owned and independent cooperages in France. Dominique Condachou succeeded his father Marcel in 1995. After studying viticulture-oenology and obtaining a cooper diploma, his son Clément decided to join the family business in 2010. They work hand in hand to develop it and preserve a craftsmanship that is fading away. Living surrounded by forests, sensitive to the environment and wanting to evolve winemaking practices on their scale, we understood the current environmental challenges of cooperage by the end of the 1990s. For over 25 years now, the Tonnellerie has specialized in the high-end refurbishment of barrels. We are one of the few coopers to offer this product, which is increasingly present in cellars. After years of research and development, accompanied by trials in collaboration with winemakers, Tonnellerie Condachou gives new life to barrels from various wines using a mechanical process and without chemicals. The return of natural micro-oxygenation and aromas similar to new wood allows for doubling the usage time of a barrel. In addition to high-end barrel refurbishment, we also offer new barrels of all sizes made from oak, acacia, and chestnut with different toasting levels tailored to wines and spirits to satisfy most aging pathways.
