Wherever manufacturers need to transport heavy loads precisely and efficiently, Stäubli WFT GmbH's Modular Custom Transport Systems provide the right solution. Stäubli WFT is based in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, which is about an hour's drive from either Bayreuth or Regensburg. We have around 120 employees and are continuously growing. The company was founded in 1998 as Wittich Fertigungstechnik. Our first business involved metal and machine parts such as welding and drilling. A few years later, we began building special machines. History: 1998 - "Wittich Fertigungstechnik" was founded by Franz Wittich. 2001 - renamed to "WFT GmbH & Co. KG" 2008 - development of the first AGV with the patented drive unit 2018 - WFT becomes part of the STÄUBLI Group and is renamed to "STÄUBLI WFT GmbH" As our customers inquired about - let’s call them vehicles - for transporting quite heavy loads, we engaged in some engineering and research. We were looking for a suitable drive unit that is stable, efficient, modern, and durable. Unfortunately, we could not find such a drive. Therefore, we designed and developed it ourselves. A team of mechanical and electrical engineers, along with Franz Wittich, began constructing and developing our current drive.
