Seals are used to prevent or limit unwanted material transfer from one space to another. The materials in question can be gases or liquids. In the case of gases, it is often important to prevent not only unwanted leakage or mixing but also a drop in pressure. Closed-cell materials such as PE foam, neoprene (with outer skin), or cellular rubber are particularly suitable as seals. Their closed-cell structure prevents the transfer of gaseous or liquid substances, while their flexibility ensures that the material adapts perfectly, providing optimal sealing.
