CALIPRI RC220 is a hand-held profile measuring instrument for high-precision sampling measurement of rolled products. With CALIPRI RC220, the cutting and cooling of samples for the evaluation of the contour is no longer necessary. The use of the optical profile measuring gauge thus speeds up the calibration of new rolled profiles. The system is mobile and can be moved quickly and easily from one rolling line to another. The measuring device can be placed between rolling stands by hand or by means of a guiding device and can measure the profile of the still hot product in a matter of seconds. The result is displayed as a point curve on the system's tablet PC and the profile can be evaluated using predefined measurement specifications and template profiles. When measuring with CALIPRI RC220, the sensor records the rolled profile from all sides and can thus evaluate both simple and complex profile shapes. After the measurement, the result can be exported as a report or data file.

OSIRIS is a stationary, optical measuring system for inline control of dimensional accuracy and surface quality of long products. With state-of-the-art laser light cutting technology and high scanning rates, the OSIRIS systems offer a complete 3D reconstruction of the product. With the OSIRIS Hot version, up to 1,100 degrees hot long products can be analyzed. The measurement results are displayed in real time on the control terminal and thus allow early corrective action to increase throughput and product quality. The surface inspection function automatically detects and classifies deviations in the product surface (peeling, blow-outs, scoring, rolling etc.). The measurement is carried out using the patented Calipri principle - a further development of the laser light section method with automatic tilt and roll correction - which eliminates possible misalignment of the sensor. The user defines the position, evaluation strategy and tolerances of the individual measuring points. The measurement is then carried out with a swivelling movement of the sensor. The sensor records the contour from different perspectives - down to the depth of the gap or completely around a fold edge. The software then evaluates the gap dimension, the flush and the radii. Laser Scanner Solution: This task is a typical application of the high-resolution QuellTech 2D/3D Q5-880 Blue Laser Scanners. Two of these units are placed at the left and at the right of the measuring objects, at a defined inclination angle. Blue laser light in this case is a prerequisite, as the cast parts are red-hot, hence emitting in the red spectral range. Additionally, the client was in need of a software solution for the project, so a 3D point cloud processing application was implemented, performing inline and evaluating width, height and angle results.
